Kadapa police seize 70 red sanders logs worth ₹81 lakh, arrest eight
Kadapa police in Andhra Pradesh confiscated 70 logs of endangered red sandalwood valued at about ₹81 lakh and detained eight suspects. The timber was hidden inside 643 cartons of coffee powder. Authorities also seized three vehicles linked to the operation, part of a larger haul estimated at ₹1.30 crore. Police spokesperson said the operation revealed a well‑organized smuggling ring, highlighting continued enforcement against illegal timber trade.
