El Nino | Telangana to cultivate fodder in lakes and ponds’ shikam lands to address potential shortage
Telangana's government announced a scheme to grow animal feed on the shikam lands of lakes and ponds, aiming to mitigate expected fodder deficits linked to the El Niño weather pattern. The initiative will involve planting suitable grasses and legumes in these water‑logged areas, with officials saying it could boost feed availability for livestock during the anticipated dry spell.
