Earth cave-in at Akkulam: Collector halts school building construction, orders evacuation of adjacent flat residents
An earth collapse occurred near the Akkulam residential area, prompting the local collector to stop construction of a nearby school and to order the evacuation of residents in adjoining flats. The sinkhole appeared about four metres from the apartments on Tuesday, destroying a boundary wall and causing a 50‑metre section of road in front of the buildings to give way.
