J&K Waqf Board takes U-turn on uniform Friday sermons
The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board reversed its earlier proposal to set up a committee that would select topics for Friday sermons. Chairperson Darakshan Andrabi said the board will now leave sermon content to individual preachers rather than politicians. The change comes after opposition parties criticized the initial plan as undue interference in religious matters.
