Sugarcane growers block roads at various places in Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag districts
Farmers cultivating sugarcane in Karnataka's Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag districts halted traffic on Tuesday, setting up road blockades across multiple locations. The protests aim to press the state government for an increased farmgate price and a revision of the minimum selling price for sugarcane, which growers say is insufficient to cover rising costs in the region.
