Supreme Court gives three more months to CBI to complete probe in custodial death case
India’s Supreme Court extended the deadline for the Central Bureau of Investigation to finish its inquiry into a custodial death by three months. The bench also instructed the CBI chief to make sure a standard criminal case is lodged against anyone found responsible for the death. The order aims to accelerate accountability in the investigation.
