Is Wikipedia ‘deeply biased’? Sandi Toksvig says it is – so she’s backing a rival
Comedian Sandi Toksvig has called Wikipedia deeply biased after noting that only 19% of its biographies feature women. She attributes the skew to the platform’s predominantly white, middle‑aged, European male editors. Toksvig is now supporting a rival project that aims to provide a more balanced representation of people worldwide. The criticism highlights ongoing concerns about representation on large collaborative platforms.
