Democratic and political protests must take place but Supreme Court must not be dragged into it: CJI
India’s Chief Justice emphasized that while democratic and political protests are legitimate, the Supreme Court should not become entangled in them. He warned that court operations must not disrupt litigants, lawyers or staff, and said he has asked relevant parties to ensure proceedings remain unaffected. The remarks were made during an open‑court session in New Delhi.
