India is evaluating the purchase of the Javelin man‑portable anti‑tank missile, a weapon widely used by U.S. Army and Marine Corps brigade combat teams. The system offers fire‑and‑forget capability and can engage armored targets at several kilometres. Officials say the acquisition would enhance India’s short‑range anti‑armor capacity and align with existing defence modernization plans in the near term.
