Madras High Court acquits death row convict from POCSO Act charge

The Madras High Court has cleared a prisoner previously sentenced to death under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. While overturning that conviction, the bench upheld his guilt for murdering a nine‑year‑old girl, reducing the penalty from capital punishment to a life term.
