Volkswagen boss backs EU plan to boost domestic European industry
Volkswagen chief Oliver Blume endorsed the European Union’s proposal to strengthen the continent’s automotive sector. He argued that the ‘Made in Europe’ framework should incentivize genuine value creation to counter the surge of cheaper Chinese competitors. Blume said the measures must support domestic manufacturers while ensuring fair competition across the market. The initiative also includes stricter labeling and potential subsidies for firms meeting sustainability criteria.
