Karnataka’s coffee cultivation area remains stagnant: KPA chairman
According to the Karnataka Planters’ Association chief, the state’s coffee‑growing area has not expanded in recent years. Planters cite insufficient government subsidies, limited access to affordable long‑term financing for drip‑irrigation systems, and a dearth of climate‑resilient coffee varieties as key obstacles to increasing production and improving profitability. He urged state authorities to introduce targeted aid and promote research into tolerant cultivars to revive the sector.
