NDA parties in Andhra Pradesh to provide 34% representation for BCs in local body elections

In Andhra Pradesh, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition has agreed to ensure that Backward Classes (BCs) receive at least 34% representation in local body elections. This follows the Rajiv Ranjan Mishra Commission's finding that the average reservation was 28.18%. Ministers said parties would fill any shortfall through nominations. The move aims to boost inclusion and address demands for greater representation of marginalized communities.
