Police clamp down on Delhi protest and detain ‘Cockroach’ movement leader
Police in Delhi dispersed a large anti‑government rally and arrested the leader of the “Cockroach” movement. Organisers said thousands of participants were prevented from marching to protest the government's plan to clean up the electoral roll, which they view as disenfranchising voters. Authorities said the gathering violated pandemic rules and could disrupt public order.
