Police took CPI (M) leaders into custody, prevented protests, foil ‘Chalo Lok Bhavan’
New Delhi police detained several leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and affiliated unions after they announced a ‘Chalo Lok Bhavan’ rally supporting a planned protest at Jantar Mantar. Authorities said the gathering was linked to alleged irregularities in the SIR scheme and moved to stop the demonstration, taking the activists into custody.
