Govt. gets ready for Kharif paddy procurement with ₹18,250 cr.
The government is allocating ₹18,250 crore for Kharif paddy procurement, according to Union Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. He projected total paddy output to exceed 119 lakh tonnes this season. The plan calls for buying 65 lakh tonnes of grain, of which 45 lakh tonnes will be the short‑duration ‘sanna’ varieties, to support farmers and stabilize markets and ensure price stability.
