Huge quantity of PDS rice seized in crackdown
Authorities seized a large stock of public distribution system rice after uncovering a scheme in which Annapurneshwari Enterprises, based in Mandya, bought the grain from a nearby Food Corporation of India depot and transferred it to Sailar Exports Ltd of Madhya Pradesh for export via Chennai. The operation prompted a crackdown on illegal diversion of subsidised rice.
