No surprises in byelection results in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as voters favour the ruling party candidates
Voters in Tamil Nadu’s recent by‑elections chose candidates from the state’s ruling coalition, with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam winning the Madurantakam and Dharapuram (reserved) seats. In the Union Territory of Puducherry, the All India N.R. Congress held onto the Thattanchavady constituency. The outcomes align with expectations and reflect continued support for incumbent parties in the region.
