Kerala’s Textile and Garments Association warned that fees on the Unified Payments Interface could raise prices, fuel inflation and push small merchants back to cash. President Pattabhiraman T.S. said UPI is now a vital digital system and has become essential public digital infrastructure that offers benefits to governments, banks, payment providers and the wider economy.
