A.P. thermal power generation increased by 13.1% in first half of FY 2026-27: official

India’s state-run thermal power sector reported a 13.1% rise in generation during the first half of fiscal year 2026‑27, producing a record 19,268 million units between April and September. Officials attributed the increase to proactive power‑purchase scheduling and sourcing coal from alternative suppliers, which helped meet growing electricity demand. Minister Vijayanand noted that the state-owned plants benefitted from improved logistics and higher plant availability.
