
Nagaland civil society groups want liquor ban in State lifted
Several civil society organisations in Nagaland have called for the state’s 37‑year‑old alcohol prohibition to be repealed, arguing that the ban has been ineffective. The Naga Council Dimapur noted that liquor is still easily obtained across the region despite the law, and urged the government to lift the restriction to address the ongoing illicit trade.
