Koneru Humpy seeks government support for chess academy in Amaravati; Lokesh assures help
Grandmaster Koneru Humpy, who earned an individual bronze on Board 1 and contributed to India’s women’s team bronze at the 2026 Chess Olympiad, has appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government for assistance in establishing a chess academy in Amaravati. State minister B. Lokesh responded that the government will extend support to the project in the near future.
