Two SC men fall at BC villagers’ feet after row over burial of 90-year-old in Erode cemetery
On October 5 in Erode, Tamil Nadu, two Scheduled Caste men transporting a 90‑year‑old’s body to a public cemetery were blocked by dominant‑caste villagers. The locals threatened them and warned against seeking future work from the dominant community. The clash occurred as the SC group sought a common burial, while villagers demanded a different burial location, underscoring persistent caste tensions.
