Tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region have continued a month‑long water‑rights protest, following earlier demonstrations in Chhatarpur against the Ken‑Betwa river link. The next leg of the jal satyagraha is set to conclude soon. In Panna district, hundreds displaced by the state’s Majhgaon irrigation scheme are demanding adequate compensation and rehabilitation, alleging procedural irregularities. Analyst Mehul Malpani says the movement faces forceful suppression.
