Government rejects ‘omnibus’ claims of enrolment of NEET-UG protestors’ biometrics on criminal database
India’s government has rejected sweeping accusations that the biometric details of students protesting the NEET‑UG exam were uploaded to the National Crime Records Bureau’s criminal database. The NCRB stated that any claim of infringement on privacy, free speech or expression must be substantiated with factual evidence, and asserted that no blanket enrolment of protestors’ data has taken place.
