
Voter lists shrink by more than 15% since 2024 in States where SIR phase-3 draft lists are out
According to the Election Commission’s draft Phase‑3 voter lists, the total number of registered electors has fallen by more than 15% compared with 2024 in states where the lists have been released. Maharashtra saw the largest reduction in absolute terms, losing roughly 15.9 million voters (about 17%). Delhi and Chandigarh experienced the steepest percentage declines, down 35.9% and 31.8% respectively.
