Bengal's government will give ₹1.8 lakh to each damaged house in flood‑hit Malda. Chief Minister Adhikari announced the aid during a relief distribution event in Raghunathpur. The funding is intended to help homeowners rebuild and reinforce their homes against future floods. He also said IIT‑Kanpur has been commissioned to produce a detailed project report, assessing defenses and recommending infrastructure upgrades for a permanent solution.
