
Passport impounded over father’s 1997 case: J&K High Court allows Srinagar student to pursue MBBS in Iran
India’s Jammu and Kashmir High Court ruled that a Srinagar medical student can resume her MBBS studies in Iran after her passport was seized because of a 1997 legal case involving her father. The student had been enrolled at Tehran University of Medical Sciences but had returned to India earlier this year amid the escalating conflict between Iran and the United States‑Israel coalition.
