Next UK banknotes to feature barn owls, bumblebees, puffins and hedgehogs
Bank of England plans to redesign its upcoming banknotes by showcasing four native British animals – a barn owl, a bumblebee, a puffin and a hedgehog. The species were chosen following a public consultation, though the exact denomination each will appear on remains undecided. The move aims to highlight wildlife and refresh the currency’s visual identity.
