Tribespeople in Kerala’s remote Edamalakkudy village transported a 33‑year‑old man with a high fever on a bamboo stretcher for nearly seven kilometres through dense forest to reach a hospital. Community members carried him on the improvised stretcher, navigating steep terrain and heavy rain. The arduous trek highlights the lack of nearby medical facilities, marking the fifth similar incident reported in the area within a month.
