Dasara elephants undergo first cannon-firing acclimatisation drill
Elephants that will participate in Karnataka’s Dasara celebrations have been subjected to a new acclimatisation exercise to desensitise them to the sound of cannon fire. Officials said the drill, conducted for the first time, involved controlled exposure to recorded blasts, aiming to reduce stress on the animals during the festival’s traditional pyrotechnic displays and ensure public safety.
