Collector calls for wider awareness to prevent child marriages
A district collector urged broader outreach to curb child marriage after reviewing an enforcement initiative. Sumit Kumar recommended expanding awareness programs through self‑help groups, community leaders, gram sabhas and school curricula, targeting students in secondary and junior colleges across the district. He stressed sensitising youths about the adverse consequences of early marriage to strengthen prevention efforts.
