
Manipur CM cites historical hill outreach to pitch for lasting peace
Manipur chief minister highlighted a traditional practice of hill outreach as a model for sustainable peace. Speaking in Imphal on Tuesday, he noted that historic Manipuri monarchs traditionally spent roughly a hundred days annually in the hills, using the time to foster dialogue among the state’s diverse ethnic groups. He suggested reviving such engagement could help resolve ongoing tensions.
