Telangana minister Harish Rao warned that citizens face financial strain during the festive period due to a proposed increase in electricity tariffs. He rejected reports that the state intends to reduce its 26% stake in TG‑Transco and accused the Congress‑led government of planning to privatise TG‑Transco, TG‑Genco, Singareni coal operations and other state‑run distribution companies.
