
Keralam to join hands with NTPC to set up 2,000-MW battery energy storage system at Kayamkulam
Kerala's government has agreed to collaborate with state‑run NTPC to develop a 2,000‑megawatt battery energy storage facility in Kayamkulam. The partnership was discussed during a meeting in New Delhi between Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and NTPC representatives, who also explored the possibility of a dedicated power plant for the state. The projects aim to boost regional renewable capacity.
