T.N. records highest Southwest monsoon temperatures in the last nine years
The Regional Meteorological Centre's analysis shows Tamil Nadu experienced its warmest Southwest monsoon period in nine years, with an average temperature of 29.45 °C from June to September. This reading is about 1.21 °C higher than the 2018‑2025 monsoon average for the state, indicating a rise in heat. The Hindu reported the findings, saying higher temperatures may affect crops and water.
