Beer on new high: Sales see over 40% increase in first six months of financial year
In the first half of the fiscal year, beer sales in India rose by more than 40 percent, according to The Hindu. By contrast, overall Indian Made Liquor volumes increased only 1.14 percent, a slowdown linked to rising prices for high‑alcohol, mass‑market spirits, which have become more expensive for consumers. The surge was driven by strong demand for premium lagers, whereas cheaper spirits faced price pressure.
