Defence Minister Rajnath Singh pitches indigenous aero-engine capability for AMCA
India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced plans to boost domestic aero‑engine production for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). He witnessed the 2,000th Shakti engine delivered by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Koraput plant and said a second production line will be set up to meet the aircraft’s needs. The move aims to strengthen indigenous capabilities. This initiative supports India's goal of reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
