UCIL chief rejects link between uranium mining, health ailments in Jharkhand
Uranium Corporation of India Limited's chairman and managing director dismissed concerns that mining activities in Jharkhand are causing health problems. He said the ore extracted in the state is low grade, yielding only 200‑300 grams of uranium per tonne of rock, and asserted that such levels pose minimal risk to public health for nearby communities, according to the company's statement.
