Monthly electricity bills in Telangana to become heavy from November 2026; ERC approves true-up charges recovery
Telangana’s Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved collection of about ₹5,420 crore in true‑up charges, raising monthly household bills from November 2026. The surcharge will apply to TGSPDCL consumers until March 2029 and to TGNPDCL customers until December 2028. The decision seeks to address past billing adjustments and secure cost recovery for state power utilities. The ERC's order was reported by The Hindu.
