Overnight rain brings relief to Annamayya, but the district’s monsoon deficit stands at 51%

Annamayya district received overnight showers that eased local conditions, yet the region remains in a 51% monsoon shortfall. Rainfall across 25 mandals averaged roughly 41 mm, with the heaviest amounts recorded in Valmikipuram, Rayachoti and Mulakalacheruvu. The India Meteorological Department expects additional light to moderate rain over Rayalaseema through October 9. Officials noted the precipitation may modestly raise reservoir levels but will not eliminate the deficit.
