Supreme Court seeks response from Centre on proposed relocation of 135-year-old Central Secretariat Library
The Supreme Court has asked the Union government to explain its plan to move the 135‑year‑old Central Secretariat Library. A two‑judge bench, comprising Justices Sanjay Kumar and Sanjeev Sachdeva, instructed Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati to submit a detailed affidavit within three weeks, outlining the proposed relocation arrangements and related safeguards. The court emphasized the need to protect the library's historic collection during any shift.
