Mandatory attachment, confiscation essential to combat vice of corruption, says Madras High Court
India’s Madras High Court, sitting in Madurai, ruled that the Prevention of Corruption Act should require compulsory attachment of assets obtained through corrupt practices. The bench urged the state government to amend the legislation to make such confiscation mandatory, aiming to strengthen measures against corruption and ensure that illicitly gained property can be seized promptly.
