Centre considering new hydropower projects, including in J&K’s Sawalkot: Union Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal
India’s central government is reviewing proposals for additional hydropower schemes, one of which is the Sawalkot dam in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Union Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal. The move follows Pakistan’s repeated objections to the project, first voiced in July last year and again in February, where Islamabad requested prior consultation on the dam’s construction.
