Mapping of two Western Ghats districts shows much of proposed ESA overlaps with Notified Forests, Protected Areas, or existing ESZs
An analysis by a citizen group of the draft Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA) notification for two districts in the Western Ghats found that a large portion of the proposed ESA coincides with already designated forest lands, protected zones and existing ecological sensitive zones. The mapping aims to clarify how the draft may impact local residents and dispel misunderstandings.
