Help bring back two Assam women pushed into Bangladesh: Gaurav Gogoi to Jaishankar
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has appealed to Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to intervene in the case of two Assamese women, Jahanara Begum and Mumtaz Begum, who were transferred to Bangladesh despite the court order, raising concerns over legal procedure, after the Gauhati High Court set aside a Foreigners’ Tribunal ruling on their citizenship status. Gogoi says the move contravenes the court’s decision.
