Rapunzel syndrome: 1 kg hair mass removed from girl’s stomach, small intestine at hospital in Keralam
A teenage girl in Kerala was hospitalized after weeks of abdominal pain and vomiting. Imaging showed a severe blockage in her intestines, and an endoscopic exam revealed a massive hairball extending from her stomach into the small intestine, a condition known as Rapunzel syndrome. Surgeons removed roughly one kilogram of hair during the operation successfully.
