Rules framed to standardise appointment of heads, members of various tribunals
The Union Law Ministry has introduced new rules that standardise how heads and members of 16 tribunals and appellate bodies are appointed. The regulations empower the National Tribunals Commission to select chairpersons and members, aiming to streamline processes and improve consistency across the country’s tribunal system. The move seeks to bring uniformity, reduce appointment delays, and ensure merit‑based selections.
