Tigress released in Bengal’s Buxa Tiger Reserve; plans afoot for three more by end of year
Authorities in West Bengal have released a female tiger into the Buxa Tiger Reserve as part of a conservation program. The translocation aligns with the opening of World Wildlife Week 2026. Officials say three additional tigers are slated for release before the year concludes, aiming to bolster the reserve’s breeding population and improve genetic diversity.
