
G.P. Talwar at 100: scientist, institution builder, lifelong researcher
Dr. G.P. Talwar, who turns 100, has spent his career at AIIMS New Delhi’s founding faculty, remaining active in laboratory work. His achievements include creating the first leprosy vaccine, a hormonal contraceptive vaccine, and establishing India’s inaugural immunology institute. He has guided hundreds of students and, despite his age, continues his research into his second century.
